Zine.

Here's my zine... had to be on the Panhandle of Texas, any subject or viewpoint, etc.

I snapped this yesterday, and I love it for unknown reasons.

Freedom.

Our projects in computer art usually have a criteria; blur, sharpen, contrast, etc. The last project though, was open. The only thing we had to do was show our professor what we had learned this semester. I went from my first idea, to a second idea... to a third idea. My second idea, was more me just trying to replicate something I saw, but my professor said it didn't really reflect my portfolio.

He told me to look at three pieces that kind of fit together, and take the strongest elements of each of those. As I looked at my portfolio, I realized that most of my pieces were talking about freedom (without me even meaning to)... and not political freedom, just a free spirit.... spiritual freedom, even.

So, for my last (and favorite) piece, I based it on Psalm 119:45. Enjoy :)

Business card!

So, after a lady in Hoblob randomly asked me to make her some art, I decided I needed a business card. I had designed some actually a few weeks ago, but wasn't in any real hurry to print them off. But, now I have several printed off (and no one to really give them to...) I went with the lower left, but these were my final ideas!

Sarah K. | Portraits

Sarah had to get some portraits taken for her photography class... here's a few of our fun afternoon adventure!

I always wanted to lay down in the road and take pictures - as weird as that sounds.

We found a pink garage... of course Sarah wanted a picture with it.

An old mechanic shop... so rusty. Mmmmmmm, and so pretty.

Old manufacturing place at the edge of town, very bright building!

She can be sassy :)

'ello?

A friend of mine (also an art student) decided we don't draw enough. Well, decided and have been repeatedly told over the last two years. There are blogs out there with people who do daily sketches, paintings, etc.

So, we're jumping on that bandwagon.

My at-least-once-a-week sketch theme is drawing things I'm thankful for and/or appreciate. I'm not taking the "I'm thankful for my mommy and daddy" approach, but more the thankful for coffee that wakes me up, for perfect Pandora stations or like today's sketch...

I am thankful for the phone. I wonder if Alexander Graham Bell thought about how this would impact lives. If it weren't for phones, it would be impossible for Aaron and I talk to everyday. I wouldn't be able to text Kelli everytime I think of Glorieta. Ellie and I wouldn't have been involved of almost every moment of each other's day through BBM.

Maybe I'm attached to my phone for a reason.

Portraits.

I'm going to update this with new art and photos as I complete them, but I wanted to show a few of my favorite portraits over the last year! So here are three:

First.

I created this blog just to have another place for my art to be displayed. My speciality is graphic design, but I also have other art projects (paint, ceramics, etc.) as well as some photography.

God has blessed me with my skills and creativity,
and I intend to use my skills for His glory.

Exodus 31:3 says, "I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability and expertise in all kinds of crafts."
