Cookbooks!

I've designed two cookbooks for a class, and now they are FOR SALE! I have over 100 sitting on my kitchen table, so buy one! They make awesome stocking stuffers, or stick 'em in a care package! Buy one for friends or family... whoever!
They're 4x5 inches - so cute!

The Food Survival Guide has cookies, casseroles, and snacks inside. All the recipes picked were based on input from college kids - all the favorites! 40 easy recipes!
(Even some microwave-only recipes!)

The Family Cookbooks are some of the family-favorite recipes from my mom's side of the family! There a few more "complex" recipes - entrees and desserts both!
26 recipes inside!

Small Changes...

Lots of things happening in the design world of Jess these days...

I now have a logo (finally), AND my own website --> www.jesscreatives.com
and my own Facebook page!
For now, I'll be keeping this blog and posting my photography, maybe some designs.

If you know of any design or marketing job opportunities in Georgia, LET ME KNOW!

That's all for now. :)

Kelli R. | Portraits

I'm working in New Mexico for a second summer, and have been blessed to room with one of my favorite people again! Kelli and I met last summer, working together at the front desk. Halfway through the summer, we became roommates! In the spring, she told me she'd love to do a shoot with me (since I had been doing a lot for my photography class). Here's a few of my favorites:

Here's a slideshow of all the pictures :)

Tal and Derrik | Engagement

I had the privilege of shooting my first engagement session last week! Tal and I became good friends about a year ago, and shortly after her and Derrik met! We've shared relationship stories and advice over the past several months... I've loved seeing their relationship grow and seeing God work!

Here's the rest! Enjoy :)

Rachel is my old roommate, and is graduating from college next month! So, she asked me to shoot some senior pictures... to which I gladly accepted! Enjoy!

Light.

Our third project was to create a piece about time and light. I chose to incorporate this quote and electricity. I also then took into After Effects and animated it!

Stuck.

This is my second screenprint for the semester. We used emulsion and mylar with ink drawings - the next project will be with transparencies!

My chosen object/content for this semester (in this class) is a typewriter - if you hadn't figured that out already. I love typewriters, and have always loved writing letters and having penpals. Except for the fact, that having to write letters means that whoever you're writing to (who you probably are very close with) is far away. The people I write letters to the most are my boyfriend and best friend, who both live faaaaar away (in really awesome places, I might add) - while I'm stuck here.

Alex G. | Portraits

I had to shoot some pictures for a photography assignment, and needed some bodies. Alex said she would love to, so we drove around town for about an hour. So fun! Can't wait til next time, Alex!

I love this candid one of her laughing...

Have to throw some fun in there too!

This burned down house was soooo beautiful (and slightly dangerous!)

Had a small photo adventure with a good friend of mine...

Ogallala.

Our second typography project was to create something about the Ogallala Aquifer (most did a poster, but we were allowed to do other types of design). I had a leftover piece of paper with a watercolor stain on it, that I incorporated into the text for my poster. I erased some of the image/text to represent the aquifer drying up.

Punchcard.

For our first project in typography, we had to create a type face that would fit the name "Punchcard." I thought of all the cards we get punched in stores, after you buy so many things or spend a certain amount of dollars. It's usually some kind of bold font, or thick shape - which is why I chose to use this particular font. Then, I took a small triangle chunk (or a few) out of each letter/number! This is the font applied onto a box template!

Big Steps.

Two big things happened this week.

My friend finally received the painting I did for him...

And I also completed my first screen print! (with only minor mistakes)...

Typewriter.

I have an obsession. Really.

Even Becky got looped in...
